This training event is designed for all staff who work with children in schools.
It is free to all LA Schools and those schools/academies, which are subscribing to the CI Service. For other settings the charge is £120.
This course will give an overview of children’s needs after a bereavement, but will also explore the specific role that school staff can play.
We will look at some typical issues that schools are faced with, and consider what role school can take pro-actively in preparing for and helping children following a bereavement.
- To develop a good understanding of the effects of bereavement on children, including their learning and their behaviour
- To gain knowledge about how to support bereaved children effectively, and how to respond to bereaved parents
- To gain confidence in supporting children and their families
This is course is free for LA schools and all other settings that subscribe to Critical Incident Support. However, a £20 administration charge will be applied for non-attendance or if cancelled within 5 working days of the course date. You can of course arrange for a colleague to attend instead.
For all other settings, the charge is £120. For cancellations made by the school/establishment less than 10 working days prior to the training course date, the whole fee will be charged.
