‘My New School’ Transition Project – moving on to high school

This workshop will explore ‘My New School’, an intervention which focuses on the transition to high school of children with Special Educational Needs.

The workshop will also train the delegates in running ‘My New School’ intervention.

Unique to ‘My New School’ is that it was developed by and for children with Special Educational Needs in Norfolk, although now it is also used in other parts of the country.

The project started two years ago when a group of children with SEND in year 6 and 7 became co-researchers in the project. They, together with two members from our EPSS team and a highly motivated Special Educational Needs Coordinator, produced and evaluated the intervention and accompanying booklet for those children who find moving to high school more difficult.

This course is delivered by Dr Helena Bunn, Senior Educational Psychologist, Miss Boesley (Research and Development Assistant, EPSS) and Mrs Davis (Senco, Colman Junior School)

This workshop offers the delegates an overview of the project; it also trains the delegates in using ‘My New School’ transition intervention in their own schools.

Schools with an EPSS contract or subscription pay £40 for a place.

Cancellation Policy:
For cancellations made by the school/establishment more than 14 working days prior to the course
date, no charge will be made. A £20 administration fee will be levied per person for cancellations after that date, unless a replacement delegate has been named.
