Managing critical incidents, trauma and bereavement in your school community

Outline
This update training session is designed for all Norfolk Headteachers and senior managers who
have previously attended the half-day Critical Incident Training. It is free to all Local Authority
Schools and those academies and independent schools, which subscribe to the Critical Incident
Service. (All other settings are charged £50)

Description
We will look at various real case scenarios, and consider possible actions that need to be taken by
the leadership team of the school/academy. We will look at good practice, and think about short
term and long term issues. We will discuss different aspects of school leadership during Critical
Incidents. We will explore the support available from the Local Authority.

Outcome
• To feel confident about managing critical incidents, trauma and bereavement in your school
• To be aware of short term and long term issues in a Critical Incident
• To gain knowledge about support available for your school community

Cancellation Policy:
For cancellations made by the school/establishment more than 14 working days prior to the course
date, no charge will be made. A £20 administration fee will be levied per person for cancellations
less than 14 days. Alternatively, you can arrange for a colleague to take your place.
