Using Social Stories and Comic Strip Conversations (EPSS Twilight)

Social stories and comic strip conversations are techniques, developed by Carol Gray, to support social children and young people with an Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Social stories and comic strip conversations aim to present information in a literal, ‘concrete’ way, which may improve a person’s understanding of a previously difficult or ambiguous situation or activity.

Description

This course will give an understanding around

  • social stories and ASD
  • the structure of a social story
  • comic strip conversations and ASD
  • the structure of comic strip conversations and ASD
  • Using social and comic strip stories effectively with an individual with ASD

Outcomes

Participants will be able to write and use social stories and comic strip conversations to support CYP.

Audience

Adults working with CYP with an ASD.

Cost: £50

Schools with an EPSS contract or subscription pay £40 for a place.
